Meet Our Dogs!

To get to know the Mace’s better you have to meet our dogs! They keep us laughing all the time. Oldest first….

Meet Rowdy! He’s a red heeler/blue heeler mix. He came into our family just a year after we were married. He was just a pup when he came to live with us (maybe 6 months old). He is a cranky old soul but we adore him. Notice the dent on his forehead? Yep, typical heeler, he was kicked right between the eyes and broke his skull. You can read more about that story HERE.

Then, There is Diesel!

Diesel came to us about 3 years ago. I had volunteered to take photos one Saturday afternoon at the Lawton Animal Shelter. I had just finished photographing a yippy-barky Chihuahua that was a pain in the butt to photograph. She wouldn’t hold still. Mo had taken her out and was getting another dog for me. I was looking at the back of my camera deleting the gazillion photos I had attempted to get of the little chihuahua when the door opened and this gorgeous blue heeler came charging in running right at me! Now, if you know heelers, they are not the friendliest of dogs so I was a little frightened by him. He jumped into my lap wiggling and licking my face. I told Mo “I’m not photographing him.” She told me I had to so we could get him adopted. I said “Sorry, he’s coming home with me!” and that was the beginning of the most frustrating 6 months of our lives! More about Diesel HERE.

Well, that’s it! Our dogs! I have lots of funny stories about them and I will try to tell you as many as I can.
